Hydrocele of the testicles is a collection of serous fluid around the testicles. The condition is not life-threatening and does not impair the function of the testicles, but it is disturbing if it grows to a large extent. There are several causes of its occurrence, most often injury, inflammation of the epididymis/testicle, testicular carcinoma, the condition after varicocele surgery and hernia.

What about hydrocele?

Hidrokela testisov pomeni nabiranje serozne tekočine okoli testisov. Stanje ni življensko ogrožujoče in ne okvarja funkcije testisov, je pa moteče, v kolikor zraste v večji meri. Vzrokov za nastanek je več, najpogosteje poškodba, vnetje obmodka/testisa, karcinom testisa, stanje po operaciji varikokele in kile. Pred operacijo je NUJENO opraviti ultrazvok mošnje, da izključimo karcinom, kilo in drugo patologijo, ki se lahko klinično kaže kot hidrokela. Ločimo nekomunikantno in komunikantno hidrokelo in funikulokelo.

Možni zapleti pri operaciji hidrokele

Internal medicine complications

Although it is a small, minimally invasive surgical procedure that usually does not last longer than 60 minutes, the procedure can cause internal medical complications such as DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS, PULMONARY EMBOLISM and ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION. The risk of developing deep vein thrombosis with or without pulmonary embolism is increased in elderly patients with arrhythmias - atrial fibrillation and in people with blood clotting disorders. The risk is also increased in patients who are bedridden for a long time due to pain. As a rule, you will receive medication to prevent the above-mentioned events. The best protection is early postoperative getting up and walking. If such a complication should occur during treatment, our professional staff is trained to recognize and treat it correctly, and in case of the need for invasive diagnostics or therapy, we will immediately transfer you to the nearest adequately equipped internal medical center.

Kirurški zapleti

Krvavitev: Med in po operaciji hidrokele lahko pride do krvavitve v mošnjo. V izogib nastanku krvnih strdkov v mošnji, kirurg med opercijo v mošnjo namesti dren. Krvni strdki se praviloma v roku meseca dni spontano resorbirajo. V primeru, da pride do vnetja ali večjega hematoma, je potrebno krvne strdke kirurško odstraniti.
Okužba: Pri operacijah spolovil ni moč zagotoviti popolne sterilnosti. Tako lahko pride do vnetja tkiv v mošnji. V kolikor se v mošnji naberejo strdki, je možnost vnetja večja. V primeru povišane telesne temperature, mrzlice in slabega počutja je potreben takojšen posvet z urologom operaterjem!

How do I prepare for the procedure?

Na dan posega ne smete zaužiti tekočin ali hrane!

Nekaj dni pred operacijo morate prenehati jemati zdravila, ki povečajo tveganje za krvavitev. To so: MARIVARIN, MAREVAN, SINTROM, apixaban (ELIQUIS), dabigatran (PRADAXA) ali rivaroxaban (XARELTO). Pred operacijo je NUJNA predpripravo v antitrombotični ambulanti.

S seboj prinesite pisni izvid, kjer bo zabeleženo, da je INR 1,3 ali manj in izvid naj ne bo starejši od enega ali dveh dni. Bolniki, ki prejemajo zdravilo PLAVIX, lahko ukinejo terapijo le z dovoljenjem kardiologa oz. nevrologa. V kolikor ukinitev ni možna, bomo skušali prilagoditi datum operacije. Aspirin 100 Protect ni NUJNO ukinjati pred operacijo, zaželeno pa je, da se vsaj 7 dni pred posegom ne jemlje.

Arrange transportation home, as you will not be able to drive yourself and excessive physical activity would increase the risk of postoperative bleeding. We advise against heavy physical activity for 4-6 weeks after surgery.

After the procedure

Po operaciji vas bomo premestili v sobo za okrevanje, kjer boste pod nadzorom do prenehanja učinkovanja izbrane anestezije. Dobili boste protibolečinsko terapijo. V bolnišnici boste ostali praviloma čez noč in bili odpuščeni dan po operaciji. Bolečine praviloma niso hujše intenzitete in v 10-14 dneh povsem izzvenijo. Ob odpustu v domačo oskrbo vam bomo predpisali zdravila za lajšanje bolečin.

We advise

Pijte veliko tekočin. Nekaj tednov po operaciji uživajte kuhano hrano bogato z vlakninami, da se izognete zaprtju in napenjanju. V primeru zaprtja si pomagajte z Donat Mg-jem ali svečkami za zaprtje. 2-4 tedne po operaciji lahko ponovno pričnete jemati zdravila za strjevanje krvi, v kolikor ne bo znakov za krvavitev v mošnjo. Izogibajte se težjim naporom, vožnji avtomobila in spolnosti vsaj 4-6 tednov po operaciji.
