He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana in 1996. In 1997, he began specializing in orthopedics at the Ljubljana Clinical Center at the Orthopedic Clinic. In 2003, he passed the orthopedics specialist exam. He was already actively involved in science during his studies at the Faculty of Medicine, where he received the Prešeren Award for scientific research in 1993. In 2000, he received the title of Master of Science in the field of hip endoprostheses wear analysis, and in 2006, he also received the title of Doctor of Science in the same field. He brought several new methods from abroad in the field of scoliosis treatment and is the only one in Slovenia who still practices them. Thus, he introduced the anterior approach to scoliosis treatment and introduced the Growing rod MAGEC system in the treatment of scoliosis in the youngest children.
Field of work
He specializes primarily in the field of the spine - he performs spinal surgeries on the entire spine, from the cervical, thoracic and lumbar. His narrower field is the treatment of pediatric spinal deformities (scoliosis).
