About the practice

Modern orthopedics has adapted to the growing needs of the population by developing new, more effective methods of clinical diagnostics, conservative - non-operative and, above all, surgical treatment of diseases of bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons. With the development of new, less invasive, diagnostic and therapeutic methods, the scope of treatment of orthopedic patients has also significantly increased and, as a result, subspecialization of orthopedic surgeons in individual areas has developed. 

Our orthopedists are top experts in the fields of spinal surgery, sports orthopedics, foot surgery, joint arthroplasty, pediatric and tumor orthopedics.

Spinal conciliation

The Spine Council meets when giving an opinion on more serious cases of spinal disease or injury. Three spinal surgeons, a neurologist and an anesthesiologist are present.

Pain relief block

A block with a combination of local anesthetic and corticosteroid provides temporary relief to the patient. It is usually used in cases of advanced joint wear, synovitis, and certain extraarticular syndromes. After the block, it is necessary to reduce physical activity in the area where the block was applied for two to three weeks.

Joint puncture

Joint puncture is performed when there is an effusion in the joint, which may be due to degenerative changes, a condition following injury or purulent inflammation of the joint. Effusion is also present in crystal-induced arthritis (gout, pyrophosphate) or as part of rheumatic disease. After the examination, the orthopedist assesses the type of effusion and suggests further examinations and treatment methods.

Application of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

ACP/PRP treatment is based on the patient's own blood. After taking 10 ml of blood, platelet plasma with growth factors is prepared and injected into the affected area (4–5 ml) under sterile conditions. The procedure takes approximately 20 minutes.

You can take all medications before the procedure, except for blood thinners - if necessary, the dosage will be adjusted in consultation with the orthopedist.

Intra-articular applications of hyaluronic acid preparations

In the orthopedic clinic, we use the hyaluronic preparation Suplasyn (a solution of sodium hyaluronate in a liquid that is highly purified). Hyaluronic acid is a natural building block of cartilage and a component of normal joint fluid. It improves the smoothness and mechanical properties of worn cartilage.

An orthopedist is a doctor who specializes in diseases and injuries of the bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and spine. A physiotherapist, on the other hand, is not a doctor, but rather performs therapeutic exercises and techniques to restore mobility, reduce pain, and rehabilitate after injuries or procedures. In practice, the two often work together – the orthopedist makes a diagnosis and directs treatment, and the physiotherapist performs it.
