About the practice

In our gynecology clinic, we perform examinations as part of preventive care, early detection, and treatment of reproductive system diseases. In addition to high-quality ultrasound diagnostics, we use the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic approaches such as expert pelvic ultrasound, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, ultrasound-guided puncture, and surgical treatment. We prioritize minimally invasive techniques, which are gentler on the body and allow patients faster and easier recovery.

We address the most common gynecological issues, such as menstrual cycle disorders, inflammations and infections, benign changes in the reproductive organs (cysts, fibroids, polyps), pelvic floor disorders (e.g., uterine or bladder prolapse, urinary incontinence), as well as many other conditions of the reproductive system and pelvis that can affect quality of life.
We place special emphasis on prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of precancerous changes and cancers of the reproductive organs (external genitalia, vagina, cervix, uterus and endometrium, fallopian tubes, and ovaries).

We provide advice on sexual health, hormonal balance, choosing the most suitable contraception, and planning pregnancy. We care for women’s health and well-being, offering preventive check-ups at all stages of life – during pregnancy, after childbirth, and later, when women face the challenges of menopause.

Areas of work

Gynecology Clinics
Preventive Gynecology

Regular gynecological check-ups and screening tests are essential for maintaining women’s health. We screen for precancerous changes of the cervix, advise on HPV vaccination and safe sexual practices. In case of suspicious results, we perform colposcopy, hysteroscopy, biopsy, and ultrasound, as well as immediate therapeutic procedures if necessary. Prevention also includes breast examination, teaching self-examination, and discussing the early signs of gynecological cancers. With a personalized approach, we aim to empower women to better understand their bodies and take care of their quality of life.

Gynecological Problems and Diseases

We address the most common gynecological issues that affect quality of life and overall well-being. These include irregularities and disorders of the menstrual cycle (e.g., heavy, irregular, or painful periods), lower abdominal pain, unusual or unpleasant vaginal discharge, reproductive tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases, and pain during intercourse. We also diagnose and treat benign conditions and diseases of the ovaries (cysts, endometriomas), uterus and endometrium (fibroids, polyps, adenomyosis, septa), cervix, as well as vagina and external genitalia (condylomas, polyps, moles, skin changes).

Ukvarjamo se tudi z diagnostiko in zdravljenjem benignih sprememb in bolezni jajčnikov (ciste, endometriomi), maternice in maternične sluznice (miomi, polipi, adenomioza, pregrade), materničnega vratu ter nožnice in zunanjega spolovila (kondilomi, polipi, znamenja, kožne spremembe).

Early Detection and Management of Precancerous and Cancerous Changes

Using advanced, minimally invasive diagnostic methods (biopsy, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, ultrasound, puncture, laparoscopy), we detect precancerous changes and cancers of the reproductive organs in a timely manner: cervix, endometrium, ovaries, fallopian tubes, vagina, and external genitalia.

We pay special attention to early warning signs (unusual bleeding, postmenopausal discharge, bloating, abdominal pressure, changes in bowel or bladder habits, pelvic pain, and unexplained fatigue), which women often overlook. In a safe and supportive environment, we provide quick diagnostics and, if necessary, the involvement of oncology specialists, ensuring early intervention and comprehensive care at all stages of treatment.

Family Planning and Contraception

In our clinic, we offer professional and individually tailored counselling for choosing the contraception method that best suits your lifestyle, health condition, and preferences. We help you understand the different options – from hormonal pills, vaginal rings, and intrauterine devices to natural methods – and work together to find the solution that will bring you the greatest comfort and safety.

We stand by your side in pregnancy planning, advise you on healthy preparation for motherhood, and provide support in case of fertility issues.

We understand that family planning and choosing contraception are important decisions, so we strive for a friendly, open, and discreet approach, where your concerns and questions are always welcome.

Hormonal Balance

Hormonal balance is essential for the functioning of the reproductive system and for numerous physical and emotional functions. In our clinic, we take a comprehensive approach to treating hormonal disorders at all stages of life – from puberty to menopause. We provide guidance for irregular periods, PMS, painful ovulation, acne, excessive hair growth, as well as weight and mood fluctuations.

During menopause, we assist with hot flashes, vaginal dryness, insomnia, and decreased libido, and, if necessary, introduce hormone replacement therapy with ongoing safety monitoring. Through individualized diagnostics and modern therapies, in cooperation with subspecialists, we identify the cause of the problems and determine the most appropriate treatment.

Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Disorders

Urogynecology deals with urinary incontinence, frequent or painful urination, and pelvic organ prolapse. These issues are common after childbirth, during physical exertion, or in menopause, and can significantly reduce quality of life.

Diagnosis is established through a thorough clinical examination, ultrasound, and, if necessary, urodynamic testing. Treatment may include behavioral measures, pelvic floor exercises, medications, or minimally invasive surgical procedures tailored to the individual.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Care

Pregnancy brings numerous physical and emotional changes, which is why our clinic ensures safe monitoring through regular check-ups, ultrasounds, and laboratory tests. We provide individualized advice on nutrition, physical activity, and alleviating common pregnancy discomforts. Between the 11th and 14th week, we perform a combined screening test (nuchal translucency + hormones) and, if desired, a NIPT analysis of fetal DNA for a more accurate assessment of chromosomal abnormalities. Pregnant women at higher risk (diabetes, hypertension, past complications) are monitored more frequently in cooperation with perinatologists. After birth, we support rapid recovery, advise on breastfeeding, monitor hormonal balance, and discuss contraception and sexuality.

Expert Ultrasound of the Reproductive Organs

Gynecological ultrasound is a key diagnostic tool in modern gynecology. It is an in-depth and dynamic imaging examination of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and other organs and structures of the pelvis and pelvic floor, performed either transvaginally, transabdominally, or transperitoneally. This allows for a precise assessment of anatomy, the relationship between organs and structures, and the detection of various changes. The examination is essential for diagnosing numerous conditions, such as fibroids, polyps, cysts, endometriosis, congenital abnormalities, inflammations, and benign or malignant tumors of the reproductive organs.

With advanced ultrasound techniques, we can now not only detect the presence of changes but also reliably assess their nature – whether they are benign, borderline malignant, or malignant.

The examination is painless, safe, and indispensable for diagnosing gynecological diseases as well as for planning further management and treatment.

Diagnostic Procedures

In our clinic, we perform a variety of modern, minimally invasive diagnostic procedures that allow for quick, accurate, and safe detection of gynecological changes.

Among the most common methods are colposcopy, vaginoscopy, and vulvoscopy, which provide a detailed assessment of the mucosa of the cervix, vagina, and external genitalia. Another important diagnostic tool is hysteroscopy, which allows us to examine the inside of the uterus. The procedure can also be therapeutic, enabling the immediate removal of polyps, fibroids, septa, or intrauterine devices. In selected cases, we may perform transvaginal ultrasound-guided puncture to obtain fluid or tissue samples for further analysis, or other types of biopsies when suspicious changes are detected in the reproductive organs and pelvis.

Timely diagnosis is crucial, as it enables early detection of changes, prompt treatment, and prevention of disease progression.

Therapeutic Procedures

In addition to diagnostics, we also perform various targeted therapeutic procedures aimed at treating benign and suspicious changes in the reproductive organs.

In outpatient procedures, we remove changes in the cervix and external genitalia, such as condylomas, pigmented lesions, suspicious formations, or precancerous changes detected during examination or colposcopy.

For changes in the pelvis, such as ovarian cysts, fibroids, or other formations in the reproductive organs, we provide surgical treatment, usually using minimally invasive methods such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. The minimally invasive approach offers reduced surgical burden, faster recovery with less pain, and a lower risk of complications compared to traditional surgery.

Our goal is safe, professional, and individually tailored care, based on the latest professional guidelines.

Gynecology Clinics

Opinions of satisfied customers

Our patients' opinions testify to the trust, professionalism, and personal approach that we implement in our work every day.
MD Medicina has friendly and, above all, professional staff. The anesthesiologists make sure you feel really safe. The surgeon gives you all the information and does his job professionally, taking care of you until you leave and of course afterwards. The nurses, physiotherapist and others make sure you don't miss anything, even if you really can't do anything at that time. Professionalism, friendliness, homeliness. This is probably all that we as patients want and deserve when we need surgery. And that's how I felt too, because everything, from the preparation for the procedure, the surgery and the postoperative care, was carried out superbly. Thank you to the entire team and all the best!

Thank you to all of you who use the latest medical devices, methods and forms of work in your medical work. At the same time, you are training a new generation of doctors because you are personally convinced that a collaborative approach with the patient is not only beneficial for you, but also for us. This makes us feel "important".
Alenka Čurin Janžekovič & Marijan Janžekovič
When you enter the MD medicine building, you feel more comfortable than not, because you don't immediately have that familiar and unpleasant feeling and smell of a hospital. You are greeted by a friendly nurse who greets you kindly and explains everything you are interested in. Everything has a relaxing effect, so that that last feeling of anxiety before a doctor's examination or surgery really goes away. The doctor you visit is a top expert who devotes himself entirely to you, really listens to you, has time for you and, in the end, gives you professional advice. I always leave the premises of MD medicine calm and with a clear picture that there are people here who will always take care of you. Therefore, a sincere thank you to all of you.
Neda Fabrizio
I have had a personal doctor at MD medicine since 2017. From the very first visit, I entered the above-standard world of the health concession: a polite reception at the clearly arranged main entrance, a bright waiting room without crowds, an examination time at the agreed time in a modern and pleasantly equipped clinic, a friendly nurse who knows me by name, a relaxed and highly professional doctor who has time both to listen and to treat me. In the same building, I can also have a laboratory and many other health services performed. I can arrange orders, referrals, prescriptions, advice via email or by phone, which someone always answers... The high-quality system of MD medicine works not only for the benefit of the patient's health, but also dignity.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have questions? Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions related to our services and procedures. If you cannot find the answer, please contact us - we are happy to help you.

We recommend most women have one exam per year, including a gynecological ultrasound, Pap smear, and clinical breast examination. If previous results are normal, the interval can be extended in agreement with the doctor; with risk factors (HPV, family history of cancer), exams should be more frequent.

Unusual or intermenstrual bleeding, bleeding after sexual intercourse, abnormal discharge, bloating or pain in the lower abdomen, a feeling of pressure in the pelvis, and urinary leakage – all these signs can indicate infection, hormonal disorder, or early reproductive disease, so an immediate appointment is recommended.

Yes. During the consultation, we assess your lifestyle, health factors, and preferences, and together choose the most suitable method: hormonal pills, intrauterine device (copper or hormonal), vaginal ring, injections, or natural methods. After starting the chosen contraception, we provide regular follow-up and adjustments if needed.

Yes. Between the 10th and 12th week of pregnancy, we analyze free fetal DNA from the mother’s blood sample to assess the risk of the most common chromosomal abnormalities. The result is available in 7–10 days, along with genetic counseling on further steps.

We start with precise urogynecological diagnostics: clinical examination, ultrasound, and, if necessary, urodynamic testing. Initially, we recommend pelvic floor muscle exercises and behavioral measures; if this is insufficient, we introduce medication or minimally invasive surgical procedures (tapes, meshes, laparoscopic suspensions), all individually tailored to your condition.
