We use a variety of diagnostic procedures (ear otomicroscopy, nasal cavity endoscopy, audiometry, etc.) to detect diseases or abnormalities in anatomically hidden areas of the head. Recently, this branch of medicine has been rapidly advancing, as technological developments have made diagnostic procedures easier and more accurate, and surgery is moving towards &#034;minimally invasive surgery,&#034; which results in much shorter rehabilitation.\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"bde-column-622-125 bde-column\">\n  \n  \n\t\n\n\n\n<div class=\"bde-text-622-126 bde-text\">\nWe also perform surgical correction of the nasal septum, or septoplasty, which allows for better nasal patency. In the case of recurrent tonsillitis or chronic tonsillitis, we remove the tonsils or palate in adults. During a specialist examination, the doctor examines the ears, nose, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx and neck. During an ENT examination, we will examine the nose, pharynx and larynx with the vocal cords using the most modern endoscopic technique and make sure of any initial changes in the mucous membrane. After a microscopic examination of the ears, tympanometry is followed to assess the functioning of the Eustachian tubes and audiometry - a hearing measurement for the preventive detection of initial or advanced hearing loss. The tonsils are located in the upper throat behind the nasal cavity. An enlarged tonsil is the most common cause of nasal obstruction, mouth breathing, and snoring in children. It can also contribute to recurrent ear infections and hearing loss in children. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia with special instruments. The procedure is done through the mouth. The indications for tonsil removal are diverse. In children, the most common reasons for tonsil removal are enlarged tonsils that interfere with breathing, feeding or cause obstructive respiratory disorders, and less commonly, recurrent angina. Removal is also necessary after a peritonsillar abscess has been treated, as it can recur. In adults, the indication for tonsil removal is chronic inflammation of the tonsils or recurrent angina. Removal is also decided upon if malignant disease or unilateral enlargement of the palate is suspected. Tonsillectomy is performed under general anesthesia.
