\nThe MD medicina medical center, Sanatorij Ljubljana, is a center with a long tradition. In the polyclinic section, we have 6 outpatient rooms, where in addition to the general outpatient clinic, various internist and surgical clinics operate, which allows for immediate diagnostics and therapy. The most modernly equipped operating rooms upgrade outpatient services for immediate and high-quality surgical treatment of our patients.\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/section>

This is probably all that we as patients want and deserve when we need surgery. \nWhen you enter the MD medicine building, you feel more comfortable than not, because you don't immediately have that familiar and unpleasant feeling and smell of a hospital. You are greeted by a friendly nurse who greets you kindly and explains everything you are interested in. Everything has a relaxing effect, so that that last feeling of anxiety before a doctor's examination or surgery really goes away. The doctor you visit is a top expert who devotes himself entirely to you, really listens to you, has time for you and, in the end, gives you professional advice. \nI have had a personal doctor at MD medicine since 2017. From the very first visit, I entered the above-standard world of the health concession: a polite reception at the clearly arranged main entrance, a bright waiting room without crowds, an examination time at the agreed time in a modern and pleasantly equipped clinic, a friendly nurse who knows me by name, a relaxed and highly professional doctor who has time both to listen and to treat me. In the same building, I can also have a laboratory and many other health services performed. I can arrange orders, referrals, prescriptions, advice via email or by phone, which someone always answers... \nComplications and errors often occur in medical interventions performed for the benefit of the patient. Errors can occur anywhere in the healthcare system (in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, pharmacies, or at the patient's home) and in any part of the treatment process (including wrong medications, incorrect treatment, or incorrect or delayed test results). The modern way of dealing with such errors is based on a systemic approach, where we do not look for the cause of errors in the behavior of the individual, but try to detect and prevent them at the system level.\n<\/div>

The vast majority of European Union countries have established national quality and safety assurance programs. Slovenia does not have such a program, which is why it is all the more important that a healthcare organization voluntarily decides to participate in one of the external review programs.<\/p>\n

Accreditation is considered a key method for improving the quality of care in a healthcare organization worldwide. It is a public recognition of a healthcare organization by an accreditation body that it meets pre-established standards. The accreditation body verifies the achievement of these standards through reviews conducted by external experts.<\/p>\n

MD Medicina has been accredited by Accreditation Canada since 2017. It is an independent, non-profit organization that has been accrediting healthcare organizations in Canada and around the world for over 55 years. It is considered one of the three most established and recognized accreditation institutions in the healthcare field in the world. The assessment is carried out by various foreign experts, from a pool of 500 assessors, who ensure the highest level of objectivity and professionalism of the assessment. The vast majority of assessors come from Canada.<\/p>\n

Accreditation Canada awards certificates at three levels, depending on which standards an individual healthcare institution meets. A healthcare organization in Slovenia typically has to prepare for a year to achieve the basic, gold level. MD Medicina, however, achieved the highest possible, diamond level in the assessment.<\/p>\n
